Japan-Canada Bilateral Exercise (KAEDEX22)

The Indo-Pacific Deployment 2022 (IPD22) unit, JS IZUMO and JS TAKANAMI, conducted a bilateral exercise with the Royal Canadian Navy (RCN) in order to strengthen cooperation and to realize a “Free and Open Indo-Pacific” as described below.
1. Objectives
(1) To improve the JMSDF’s tactical capabilities
(2) To strengthen cooperation between the JMSDF and the RCN

September 21-23

From the vicinity of Malaysia to the vicinity of Singapore

(1) JMSDF: JS IZUMO, JS TAKANAMI (IPD22 First Surface Unit)
(2) RCN: HMCS WINNIPEG
