On December 14, the 13th Japan-Canada Military to Military (MM) Dialogue was held in Ottawa, Canada.

The Japanese delegation was led by Mr. MIURA Jun, Director General for International Affairs, Bureau of Defense Policy, Ministry of Defense, and the Canadian delegation was co-led by Major General Greg Smith, Director General for International Security Policy and Major General Paul Prevost, Director of Staff for the Strategic Joint Staff Department of National Defence.

The Government of Canada launched “Canada’s Indo-Pacific Strategy” last month (November 27th) and the importance of the Japan-Canada cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region has been increased. The delegations exchanged views on a variety of issues, including regional affairs and defense policy of both nations, etc. and deepened the discussion on Japan-Canada defense cooperation and exchanges.
