Residents in Eastern Canada may see four Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) aircraft being transported along the Trans-Canada highway this summer as part of planned disposal work.

Starting July 7, 2026, four CP140 Aurora aircraft will be gradually transported from 14 Wing Greenwood, Nova Scotia, to an aircraft recycling facility in Grenville, Quebec. The aircraft are identifiable by their RCAF livery and will be individually dismantled and transported via a flatbed truck accompanied by escort vehicles between July and September 2026.

Motorists are asked to exercise patience and caution as they encounter these various oversized loads during their transport. Temporary traffic delays, lane closures, or brief road stoppages may occur during each trip to ensure the safe passage of the dismantled aircraft. These operations have been carefully planned in coordination with local authorities and all necessary safety measures will be in place.

The RCAF greatly appreciates the patience and understanding of local residents as we complete these moves safely and efficiently.
