Under the command of Acting Commander of KRI SHN-366 Lieutenant Colonel (P) Lustia Budi, KRI Sultan Hasanuddin from the ranks of Satkor Koarmada II, carried out a Passing Exercise (PASSEX) with His Majesty’s Canadian Ship (HMCS) Montreal (FFH 336), in the waters of the Java Sea. is an exercise carried out by the Indonesian Navy to welcome and deliver foreign warships that will enter and leave Indonesian waters.

The series of exercises carried out include Communication Exercises between ships using light signals (Flash Exercise), signal communication exercises with the raising of semaphore flags (Flag hoist Exercise), Simple Maneuvering Exercise, RAS Approaches and closed with Farewell.

On the occasion, Acting Commander of KRI Sultan Hasanuddin said that in addition to maintaining the ability and professionalism of soldiers, PASSEX also aims to improve relations between the Navy and the Canadian Navy.

“With this Passing Exercise, in addition to maintaining the sovereignty of the Republic of Indonesia, it is expected to strengthen international relations, maintain and improve friendly relations between Indonesia and Canada,” he concluded.
