NATO STANAG 4564 Edition 3 represents a significant advancement over Edition 2, introducing enhanced requirements for interoperability, standardized operational functionality, and support for increasingly complex naval missions. The updated standard expands capabilities for both surface and subsurface operations, including improved support for high-speed navigation, precision pilotage, operations in GNSS-denied environments, and other mission-critical tactical functions. Developed through the collective experience of NATO navies, Edition 3 establishes a more comprehensive framework for modern warship navigation systems, helping ensure greater operational effectiveness, safety, and coalition readiness.
