The Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Education Foundation announced the recipients of the 2023 Sea Cadet Scholarships, marking a significant milestone in supporting the educational aspirations of Sea Cadets across Canada.

In response to an impressive total of 98 applications received from Sea Cadets, the Foundation is pleased to see a return to pre-pandemic application levels. Furthermore, the Foundation is proud to note that Sea Cadet applicants hail from every part of Canada, with representation from all provinces except one.

The Foundation remains committed to empowering the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets in their pursuit of higher education. This year, the Foundation awarded a total of $91,000 in scholarships to 68 deserving Sea Cadets. This support is made possible through strategic partnerships with key organizations, including Irving Shipbuilding, the Naval Association of Canada Endowment Fund, the Royal Canadian Naval Benevolent Fund, and numerous individual donors.

A special highlight of this year’s scholarship awards is the recognition of Sarah Zouah from Brampton, Ontario, as the recipient of the Rear Admiral H. Timothy Porter Memorial Scholarship. Sarah, an exceptional Sea Cadet, is currently pursuing a degree in Health Sciences at McMaster University.

Certificates and scholarship funds will be prepared by the Foundation and forwarded to individual recipients to commemorate their achievements and support.
